Why Was Premier Roofing Started?
Keith Powers founded Premier Roofing after watching homeowners across Southeast Michigan get shortchanged by contractors who cut corners and by insurance companies that didn’t follow through on legitimate claims.
Keith grew up around roofing, learning the trade alongside his father as a kid. It wasn’t formal training. It was just how he spent his time, and the craft stuck with him. That foundation shaped everything about how he runs Premier Roofing today. Now his own sons work alongside him, something he never set out to plan. It just happened the same way it did for him, and that says something about the culture he built.
After years in the trades, Keith saw a pattern he couldn’t ignore. Homeowners were getting roofs that failed early. Insurance claims were being mishandled. Contractors were prioritizing their margins over the families they were supposed to serve. He started Premier Roofing in 2015 with one goal: bring honesty back to the roofing industry in Macomb and Oakland County.
